MEROVINGIANS. Rouen. Circa 700-725. Denier (Silver, 13 mm, 1.22 g), 'au buste et croix grecque'. Stylized male head to right, the hair devolved into a line of pellets; before, cross with annulet above and below. Rev. Large rhombic cross with central pellet and surmounted by a small cross; two annulets in righthand angles; around, letters. Cf. Belfort 5758 and Prou 2872 (for similar type). Very rare. Somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.
